Altered Ventures backs AlterGard’s vision for games shaped by their communities
Our first venture capital investment supports our vision for games shaped by the people who play, create, and participate in them.
We’re excited to share that AlterGard has received investment from Altered Ventures, marking our first investment from a venture capital firm.
As a gaming technology company incorporated in the United States, with our team in Guadalajara, Mexico, this is an important milestone for us. It gives us support to keep developing our technology, working with game studios, and turning our vision into experiences people can enjoy.
We believe gaming communities have much more to contribute to the games they love. Players bring ideas for new worlds and experiences. Creators bring communities together. Viewers bring energy, imagination, and the desire to take part.
We’re building AlterGard to help studios bring those contributions into their games.
Our platform brings together three connected areas:
-
01
AI-assisted content creation and user-generated content
Tools designed to help developers and players turn ideas into maps, environments, and playable experiences, making content creation more accessible and easier to iterate.
-
02
Viewer-Driven Gameplay
Technology that connects audience interactions to events inside a game, allowing viewers to introduce challenges, assist players, and influence live sessions through mechanics defined by the developers.
-
03
Monetization infrastructure
Systems intended to help studios, content creators, and streamers explore economic opportunities around community-created content and audience participation.
These capabilities share a common purpose: helping studios build games that can continue growing through the creativity and participation of their communities.
For a player, that might mean creating and sharing a new environment. For a viewer, it could mean triggering an unexpected challenge during a livestream. For a studio, it means having tools to design these experiences without building every supporting system independently.
Artificial intelligence is an important part of this vision. We’re developing workflows that help people create, modify, and adapt content more quickly, while keeping each studio in control of its game’s design and rules. Over time, we want to make these creative possibilities available within gameplay itself, wherever a game’s integration supports them.
We’re exploring this work through our development ecosystem, including AlterGard Studio and Map Molder, and through collaborations such as Dravo’s Twisted Show, the cooperative horror game developed by Titan Games. These projects help us test our technology against real production and gameplay needs.
Having Altered Ventures join us at this stage is especially meaningful. The firm invests at the intersection of artificial intelligence, entertainment, and immersive technology, areas closely connected to what we’re building. We’re grateful to Mario Valle and the Altered Ventures team for their confidence in our team and our vision.
Their investment will support the continued development of our infrastructure and developer tools, alongside our work with studios and creators to validate integrations and bring these capabilities to more games.
To our team, partners, and everyone who has supported AlterGard so far, thank you. This milestone reflects the work we’ve put into the platform together, and we’re excited to share what comes next.
Our vision is to help gaming communities shape the experiences they love, through what they create, how they play, and the ways they participate.
